Is Coraline A Scary Movie
Based on the book by Neil Gaiman its easily as captivating as anything else hes ever written.
Is coraline a scary movie. I finally re-watched this movie and am amazed just how tactfully it handles the parody angle while also being a solid horror movie. The style is stunning and the story is an unwavering fairy-tale nightmare that has some genuinely scary moments. But being scared is part of the fun and the story is brilliantly told.

Those of you who are all oh it was so slow at the beginning and I cant believe how some people t.
But theres a major aspect of Henry Selicks film that isnt talked about as often. Parents need to know that Coraline will scare young kids. Coraline examines themes and ideas thatll shake any child to their core.

With the man who was behind Nightmare Before Christmas at the helm its not too hard to believe that the upcoming Coraline might be a bit too scary for kids. Even if youre not a kid this movie is a scary masterpiece. Slightly less creepy than the book on which it was based the movie is still quite dark and the other world that Coraline discovers turns into a frightening dangerous place where she could very well die and other ghost children already have.
However Im here to make the case for Coraline because it isnt a scary movie. Drector Henry Selicks stop-motion-animated Coraline is creepy but its nowhere near as dark as the theories its inspired. A unique one in that Im not emulating any trailer Ive ever seen.
